MY REVIEW

Play Me is a steamy hot short story with a darker streak. I really loved the atmosphere created by these two authors. I am familiar with their work and always have enjoyed their not so conventional love stories.

"...To the women who find strength after the worst situations… and reclaim their identity, their sexuality, and their mental freedom. Even if they’re blamed. Even if they’re judged. Even if they’re misunderstood. This book is for those brave. "

During College, Quinn suffered a trauma that marked her soul and even though she has become a strong independent woman, capable of fending for herself, the memory of that event was still deeply rooted in her mind. So in order to overcome her fears she seeks help from Joshua. He is the owner of a kink club and the only person capable of giving Quinn the help she so desperately needs.

Told in dual POV this novella was intense and full of action. There was never a dull moment, I was literally on the edge of my seat until the end. The two protagonists had insane chemistry, the air was crackling between them from their first encounter. I liked the game of cat and mouse they were playing or should I say a game of The Wolf chasing Little Red Riding Hood.

“Little Red craves to be hunted. So, I Hunt.”

The passion, the angst, and the raw emotions were so palpable throughout the book. It was so much more than a kinky read, it the story of a woman defeating her demons and healing her soul and in the process finding love. The ending was just lovely, a HEA I so desperately wanted for Quinn and Joshua and I also loved the cameos of couples from the other books in the KKinky Reads collection.

I recommend this book if you're looking for an easy, quick and steamy read!
