MY REVIEW

Another enthralling story from Skye Warren. Even though it's a short one, The Bishop kept me glued to the pages until the end and it was great to be back in the Tanglewood world.

"The body and the heart can clamor all they want, but it’s the mind that makes the decision to hope."

I wad delighted to read Anders Sorenson's story. The good doctor managed to captivate my attention. His calm and composed demeanor was intriguing. But underneath the cold facade, he always puts up, there's a raging fire waiting to come to life and the need for revenge that's been consuming his thoughts ever since his childhood. Everything changes for him when a gorgeous and mysterious woman comes into his life, stealing a precious chess piece and his heart. Anders and Natalie are perfect for each other and his protectiveness towards her melted my heart. He was like a gentle giant around Natalie and that made me fall in love with his character even more. And I instantly loved Natalie, because although she has a strong character she was also was brave enough to show vulnerability and accept Anders's help and kindness.

"Anders isn’t an ordinary doctor. He’s my captor and my savior."

Told from dual POV, the story has a solid plot. I enjoyed the way the action developed and that it was fairly detailed for a novella. There was also a plot twist at the end which took me completely by surprise, it was brilliantly done. And the presence of Damon, Penny, Gabriel, and Avery was an added bonus. I loved catching up with my favorite couples from Tanglewood.

Suspenseful, emotional and compelling, this novella will tug at your heartstrings. It's a definite must-read. I recommend it!
