Billionaire Sutton Mayfair has nothing left to lose… My best friend is getting married to the woman I love. They say the nice guy finishes last. So what’s the point of being a goddamn gentleman? Maybe I should take what I want. Even that sexy little thing on the street corner. She needs a hot meal and a place to sleep. Instead I’m taking her home to soothe the savage best inside me. I was born a bastard, and for the first time in my life I act like one. Except the more I use her, the more I need her. I didn’t know I had someone left to lose. For a single heartbeat, I had her.

MY REVIEW
Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Well damn... another soul-wrenching story from Skye Warren. The writing is flawless and evokes so many emotions. The story gripped me from the beginning and I read it in one sitting.

Mating Theory follows Sutton and Ashleigh, and their journey to finding a happy ever after. Sutton is nurturing a broken heart and has been losing himself in alcohol for the past six months. He has to witness the marriage of the two people he's in love with and that is pure torture. But then enters Ashleigh, who is like a breath of fresh air for him. Her innocence, her kindness and the way she puts her trust in him stir something in Sutton's heart. A new feeling blooms and his need to protect and take care of her overwhelms him. There's a soul-deep connection between them like he's been waiting his whole life to find Ashleigh. But she has her own haunting past and secrets she doesn't want to share, so getting attached to a man who can easily break her heart is something Ashleigh wants to avoid, but it might be a bit impossible when they seem to fit perfectly together.

The story is told from dual POV, which I always enjoy. The action is fast-paced but even so, the plot is well developed and gives enough details to make the story interesting. Both protagonists are relatable and complex. Sutton's fierce way of loving someone melted my heart, and he deserved to find the right person to love him back the same way. The chemistry between him and Ashleigh was off the charts intense. I loved how everything turned out in the end and the epilogue was perfect.

This book has a bucket load of emotions that will tug at your heartstrings and I recommend it to anyone who loves age-gap romances!
