Once, the name Macalister Hale was uttered in the boardroom with respect. Now, it’s whispered in disgrace at cocktail parties hosted by Boston’s elite.
Scandal nearly destroyed me, but the one thing larger than my infamy is my bank account, and I’ve learned money can solve anything.
Well—almost anything.
Sophia Alby’s preferred currency is secrets and the way she trades information puts Wall Street to shame.
This girl charges into my life and claims a partnership can restore my reputation. My downfall was swift, but with her, my climb to redemption will be greater.
Our arrangement is professional. Appropriate. It has to be, because she’s half my age. But it doesn’t stop me from wanting . . .
To move on. To control and indulge in her. To hear the name Macalister Hale echo in her breathy moans.
But I can’t. Giving in to temptation led to my undoing before, and I won’t survive it a second time.
To the rest of the world I’m the villain, but to her? I’ll be the hero.

MY REVIEW
Rating⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I love a well-written age-gap romance and Nikki Sloane did it perfectly. The Redemption is the fourth book in the Filthy Rich Americans series but it can be read as a standalone. Although, I would definitely recommend reading the first three books to get a better picture of the characters presented in this story.

Macalister Hale is a force of nature, he's rich and powerful, and imposes respect everywhere he goes. But his reputation has been tarnished after some unfortunate events and now all he wants is redemption. He might know how to play the politics game but when it comes to amending making amends he is clueless where to start. That's when Sophia Alby makes an entrance offering to help him restore his name. Macalister doesn't want her help but she's too stubborn and determined to simply give up so in the end, he accepts Sophia's proposal but his dominant nature seems to rise up every time he's near her, and that might just make things even more complicated.

I loved the build-up tension between Sophia and Macalister. Their chemistry was off the charts and things between them developed naturally. He tried to keep his distance as much as he could, but the intelligent and fiery blonde challenged him in more than one way. He was drawn to her like a moth to the flame and when he gave himself permission to indulge in the passion brewing between them, Macalister became all-consuming. And Sophia was his perfect partner, even with the age difference, the two off them together made sense.

The story was fairly paced, with a well-developed plot and the characters that had depth and were relatable. There was some drama going on, but I liked that it wasn't exaggerated and things were resolved quite rapidly. This book focuses most of all on the protagonist's personal development and I enjoyed a lot seeing him transition from the villain of the story to a person who deserves a happily ever after. I'm looking forward to reading more books from this series, and I highly recommend it!
