MY REVIEW
My Rating: ★★★★

“It's not insane to imagine that sometimes even horrible people are searching for a way out of their own darkness.”

Wow, Defy Me played so hard with my emotions. I think I was stunned throughout most of the book because I couldn't believe what was happening. The story continues right were Restore Me left off. Tahereh Mafi throws Kenji's Pov into the mix too and it was delightful to get more into his head, his perceptions and thoughts made the book even more interesting and I just love him for that.

Juliette uncovers the truth about her parents and who she really is and her character development has a spiking arc. She becomes tougher and stronger than ever and sees everything that has happened until then with different eyes. She is not a scarred girl anymore, she has transformed into a powerful young woman, determined to fight no matter what for the people she loves. Her reunion with Warner was tear-jerking. Their love is stronger than ever, and I was so happy to see them come undone in each other arms. Plus that scene at the end was priceless, it melted my heart.

The plotline in this book was unpredictable, with lots of twists that made my jaw drop. It was fast-paced and had a lot of action, it shed light on a lot of secrets but also left room for others to take their place. I liked the fact that there is still more to uncover and that has me excited to see how the series will conclude. I sure hope for a happy ending for everyone.
