Wow! What a way to start a series. Richer Than Good is the first book in Amelia Wilde's new trilogy.
I was intrigued by Zeus from the first moment he was mentioned by Hades in King of Shadows. So when this book was announced I jumped at the opportunity of reading it and I was not disappointed This story is dark, erotic, and captivating.
Zeus is the owner of a luxury brothel. He is deliciously dark, evil and twisted yet he’s so human at the same time. Being raised by a sadistic foster father left his mark on his soul. He may have not been physically tortured like his brother Zeus but psychological abuse can have even worse repercussions on a young mind. He is cold and calculated, a ruthless businessman, but underneath that merciless demeanour, there is a man who shows compassion from time to time. The moment he sets his eyes on Brigit the walls around his heart start to crack and strange and new emotions seem to overwhelm him every time he's near her.
Brigit is on the run from her father. She will do anything to get as far away from the city, but for that she needs money and her last resort is to seek a job with Zeus. She is sweet and innocent, but there's also fire in her veins and when Zeus pushes her buttons she's not afraid to bite back. There is this insane chemistry between them, a scorching hot and dangerous attraction that sizzles every time they touch.
This book is perfect for those who like their heroes dark and their lust strong. The descriptions and flow of this story are masterful and elicit so many feelings that it was impossible to put down. Angst, violence, dangerous situations were all perfectly woven into the storyline. And that cliffhanger left me craving more. I am impatiently waiting for the second book in this series!!
