  Blurb:
Monsters don’t often look like monsters on the outside. Forced to marry a man I should hate, I’m now bound to Damian. I sometimes wonder what he sees when he looks at me. Deer in headlights, I guess. What I see is clear. Darkness. Desire. Carnal want. A man with too much experience. The day he took me he told me I belong to him. On our wedding night he proved I did. And I believe him when he says he’ll keep me safe because he won’t let anyone touch what’s his. But I can’t forget what he is. Can’t forget the things he’s done. And no matter what, I can’t let myself fall in love with him.

EXCERPT He warned me about the monsters. How many more hide in this house? “Cristina,” Damian says. I keep turning, my body still pressed to Damian’s. I’ve taken shelter in my enemy’s arms. He’s in my periphery now. The monster. The brother. Tall, like Damian. I see the coat. It’s wet. He was the man walking back toward the house. It wasn’t Damian at all. What is out there that they go to see in the dead of night? Dark hair. Identical twins. It’s easy to tell them apart now though. My eyes finally find the monster’s eyes. My breath catches in my throat. I remember when I was little, and I stared at Damian’s damaged hand. But this? This is worse. Much worse. His face…I see Damian in it. In half of it. The damage on the other half, no, not quite half. It’s from the corner of his eye back into his hairline. It’s like Damian’s hand, his arm. Melted skin. “Not as pretty as my brother, am I?”

MY REVIEW
Rating ⭐⭐⭐

Unholy Intent is the conclusion to Damian and Cristina's story, and it picks up exactly where the first instalment of the duet ended.

Cristina is living in a den of vipers, she can't trust anyone in Damian's mansion. And now that Lucas is in the picture things become even more dangerous. She is forced to marry the man she hates, for her safety and Damian might pretend he's playing by his family's rules but his feelings for Cristina run deep. She's become his weakness and his enemies won't hesitate to take advantage of that and strike when he least expects it.

The banter and the constant battle of wills between the protagonists made this story even sweeter. I liked Cristina's determination to resist Damian's charm, even if she was kidding herself by denying the attraction. And even in her young age, she manages to be fierce and steel herself in the face of danger. As for Damian, he might be ruthless and calculated, but the moment Cristina becomes his, he swears to protect her against everyone, even his own family. There are still secrets between them but slowly he opens up towards Cristina and lets her see the man behind the monster.

The storyline was like a whirlwind, action-packed and full of suspenseful and angsty moments.⁣ And the ending was fitting for their story, I loved all the emotion that poured from the pages. Overall, I enjoyed this duet very much, and I recommend it to everyone who loves dark mafia romance!
