I’ve always been a toy for others to use.
A spoiled, broken girl who’s never been seen because no one ever tried.
He sees me though. Holding up a mirror and showing me exactly who I am with absolute clarity.
Is that a good thing?
I’m not sure.

MY REVIEW
Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Clarity is the first book I've read by author Nicole Dykes, and I'm happy I took a chance on it. It is an emotional and heartwarming story. I enjoyed the author's writing style; it was clear, and the storyline was easy to follow.
The characters are well developed and relatable. Rhys is so jaded, my heart hurt for him. He doesn't feel worthy of being touched or loved. Growing up in foster care, the abuse he suffered at the hands at those who should have been like his parents, and battling addiction left him broken on the inside. But then Blair storms into his life determined to help him battle his inner demons and Rhys does what he knows best, he pushes people away. But Blair is stubborn and when she sets her mind to something she gets it done. There is a strong connection between them and she wants to explore it. She won't give up fighting for the people that need her most and a chance at a proper relationship with Rhys.
The story was fast-paced, with a bit of drama, but everything resolved rapidly. I loved the banter between the protagonists, the push and pull and all the passionate moments. Both Rhys and Blair were relatable characters, and the way their relationship developed felt genuine. This story pulled at my heartstrings, and I'm definitely going to read more books by Nicole Dykes.
