Wicked Truths is the conclusion to Becker and Eleonore's story and what a fantastic conclusion it was. This book was like a whirlwind, full-on suspense, adventure and sexy moments that left me breathless. Yet again Jodi worked her magic and delivered an engaging and absorbing read. Becker and Elonore have become one of my favourite couples. Their dynamic was perfect, the chemistry sizzled between them every time they were near each other. The banter and the constant battle of the wills between the protagonists made this story even sweeter. I loved how Becker gradually went from being the guy who doesn't want to hear about a relationship to the man who couldn't live without Eleonore because she matched him in every way and he couldn't ignore the magnetic pull between them. And I liked Eleonore's determination to go head to head with Becker every time they had a fight, I just loved her inner fire. I also loved the secondary characters. Mr H, Becker's grandad was a real gem, and Elonore's mom, her friend Lucy and even Winston, the bulldog, were wonderfully presented and their presence added salt and pepper to the story. The story was suspenseful and full of dangerous situations and angsty moments, with fairly paced action and a well-crafted plot. And the ending was fitting for their story, I loved all the emotion that poured from the pages. I could easily envision this book like a combination between two of my favourite movies, Indiana Jones and National Treasure. It's fair to say I enjoyed this duet very much, and I highly recommend it! |
