Private Property by Skye Warren is now live!

When I signed up for the nanny agency, I didn't expect a remote mansion on a windswept isle. Or a brooding billionaire who resents his new role.

His brother's death means he's now in charge of a moody seven year old girl. She's lashing out at the world, but I can handle her. I have to. I need the money to finish my college degree.

As long as I can avoid the boss who alternately mocks me and coaxes me to reveal my darkest secrets.

MY REVIEW
Rating ⭐⭐⭐
AHHHH, thank you Sky Warren for giving us a modern-day spin of Jane Eyre. I've always wanted to read one, and Private Property was brilliant. It hit all the marks for me.

We have Beau Rochester, the broody, handsome and a bit scary millionaire, who has to take care of his niece after the sudden death of this brother and sister-in-law. He harbours secrets that have turned him into a recluse and raising a 6-year-old is not something he ever imagined doing. That's where Jane comes into play. Hired as the nanny, the young woman has to live at the Rochester mansion for a year, before she can receive payment for her services. She easily connects with the little girl, finding they have something in common, they both lost their parents at a fragile age. Jane seems to have a good influence on little Paige, but also on Mr Rochester. He's drawn to her like a magnet, her youth, her moral principals and her modesty are a breath of fresh air for a man like him. And as much as he tries to keep his distance and act like an asshole towards her, it's impossible to resist the temptation when Jane keeps bringing down the walls he built around his heart.

As in all of Skye's books, the writing style is very atmospheric, with mystery beautifully woven into the story. This first instalment of the trilogy focuses a lot on character development. Both protagonists have secrets and a haunting past and it was interesting to see them establish a connection even if it's mostly a physical one. This book ends with a dramatic cliffhanger, and I'm excited to see what will happen next. It's definitely a page-turner and I recommend it!
