Sexy, mysterious, alluring and dangerous. This would be my best description for this story. I was hooked from the first chapter and wanted to know more about Emmerson and his obsession with art and the sweet and innocent Daphne, who despite being part of a powerful family, chose to live a simple life and earn an honest living through her artwork.
He is famous and rich, but that's not what pulls Daphne towards him. It's the intense feeling off being truly seen, and baring her soul to him through her paintings. And Emerson might look all calm and collected on the outside but the beautiful and talented young woman deeply rattles his emotions. And once he settles all his attention on her, he won't stop until having Daphne as his most prised possession.
This was a delicious slow burn romance that had me desperately turning pages to see what the characters will do next and it culminated with a cliffhanger that left me hungry for more. I'm very curious to see what will happen next.
