I have mixed feeling about The Finisher. It might be because I expected the same action intensity as in the first 3 books in the series. This one was pretty much character focused and though I enjoyed Alpha and Zephyr together, i would have like a bit more plot development.
These two have intense chemistry and Alpha is a big adorable bear when you look past his gruff personality. He's built like a gladiator, and he always seems angry, he's an epitome of masculinity, but underneath that rough exterior and the cold walls he's been putting around his heart, there's a man who can feel so much and Zephyr, with her effervescent personality brought down his defenses and made him love again. She is sweet, carrying, but also strong-headed and courageous. Usually, I'm not a fan of insta love romances, but in their case it worked out nicely.
The mafia elements are more subtle in this story, but it's not lacking danger and suspense. There is a twist at the end that caught me by surprise and some questions from the previous books got answered but there is still more to unravel and I'm looking forward to the next installment.
