Shani Haim's writing style is a breath of fresh air. I was hooked on this story from the first chapter and it kept my interest with a plot that was well thought out.
Erin and Thomas make such an amazing couple. They start off as enemies but the chemistry between them burns hot from the first minute. And the way their relationship developed melted my heart. They are two pieces of a puzzle that fit together perfectly. She's a strong, kind-hearted and resilient woman. And Thomas, the grumpy but ohhhh so sexy artist, with a past that haunts him, conquered my heart irrevocably. His inner turmoil was heartbreaking, and Erin was the perfect balm for his bleeding heart. She is sweet and caring towards him even when he is a stubborn beefcake. I liked her determination and the fact that even in the most vulnerable moments she kept a leveled head.
The story is fast-paced, told from dual POV, peppered with angsty moments, a bit o suspense and a lot of tension between the protagonists. I loved the banter between the protagonists; it made their interactions so much more intense and the sexy scenes were extremely hot. Also, the secondary characters were relatable and well contoured and I'm excited for them to get their own stories written. The book ends with a HEA and the epilogue was perfect to conclude this lovely story.
A wonderful debut novel that I highly recommend!
